The CUD toolkit is intended to structure and institutionalize the outputs of CUD projects. It serves to document and scale the lessons learned and best practices gleaned from CUD work to Cities around the world.

For each project, Cisco consultants will prepare, with partners from the CUD Cities, a high-level project plan spelling out the deliverables of the work.

The Toolkit elements are provided here to form an online repository of project information, forming a "connected and sustainable city planning dashboard."

For each project, the following elements will be produced:

1. Executive presentation - profiling the project in 4-5 slides with key messages on outcomes.
2. Project recap and whitepaper - covering the project objectives, approach, lessons learned, etc.
3. Proof of concept - demonstrating the project in a working three-dimensional prototype or Flash mockup (not every project will necessarily include a proof of concept)
4. Technical "Cartoon" architecture - describing in broad strokes the requisite technology and ecosystem required to enable the project.
5. Value case analysis - outlining the "triple bottom line" impacts of environmental, economic, and social benefits to be accrued from the project.

City officials and the public around the world will be able to visit this online dashboard to learn about projects spanning the key CUD program areas, read the case studies of leading initiatives and pilots undertaken by CUD participants, and understand how to apply such thinking in their own context.
